New Golf Carts at the UGA Golf Course

Recent golfers have said they enjoy the new GPS technology, which provides you with valuable course information such as your distance from the hole and course photos. The new fleet is also safer, with a revolutionary IntelliBrakeTM system that provides a more responsive ride. Plus, they look great!

Our new golf cart fleet uses lithium ion batteries — the same technology used in electric cars! Each battery is more sustainable, with a longer lifespan than the previous lead acid batteries, as well as a longer charge, which means we are using 30% less energy to keep the carts running. On top of that, the IntelliBrake™ system uses a regenerative motor braking system that continually recharges the golf cart’s battery when the brakes are pressed (and with such a hilly course … brakes are used a lot!). The batteries are also 300 pounds lighter than the previous lead acid battery sets, which means the carts have a more efficient use of energy while in motion. They also have a lighter physical footprint, which cuts down on turf damage. Our new carts are just the latest development in our sustainability efforts.
