Assistant Catering ManagerThis is an administrative and managerial position in Campus Catering, under the direction of the Catering Manager. Work involves assisting the Catering Manager in pre-function planning and execution to ensure proper coordination and preparation in advance of events. They will provide hands-on oversight during events as needed, to ensure catered events run smoothly and in accordance with client expectations and specifications. |
CashierReceives cash or meal ticket receipts in payment of bills, purchases, admission to events or other services. Verifies negotiability of bills received. Balances cash on hand against receipts. |
Catering AssistantUtilizes strong organizational and communication skills to assist with the overall coordination of catering arrangements for the customers. Responsible for delivery, setup, execution and service of catered events. Assists the catering manager with execution of all catering related functions. |
Cook ISkilled cooking work in the preparation of foods for a Dining Commons. Work involves the general preparation and cooking of a variety of foods, or the specialized preparations of meats and vegetables. Works under the supervision of a Cook 2 or Chef. |
Cook IISupervises and participates in the work of preparing a large volume of meats, vegetables, and other foods. Consults with supervisor to determine best methods of preparation for individual food items. Assists in planning menus and devising means of using left over foods. Prepares special foods for banquets and other occasions. Gives special attention to overall appearance of food prepared. |
Dining Services Repair TechnicianThis position is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing commercial kitchen equipment, performing general building maintenance task and preventative maintenance for equipment and dining facilities. Event CoordinatorThis position is responsible for marketing conferences and events offered by University colleges and departments. A person occupying this position must also schedule and coordinate various types of events and services, including security, technical arrangements, various services and staffing. |
Food Service Worker IThis is manual and semi-skilled work involving a variety of food service duties in dining hall or cash operations kitchens. Work involves responsibility for serving foods, cleaning facilities, and in preparing serving line meals. Food Service Worker IIThis is manual and semi-skilled work in the performance of advanced food service duties in dining hall or cash operations kitchens. Work involves limited supervision over subordinate food service workers engaged in serving foods and cleaning facilities for limited food preparation tasks and for related food service duties that are more advanced and responsible than the duties of Food Service Worker I. |
Materials Handler IIThe Materials Handler II performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. Incumbents exercises decision making and independent judgement due to a broad knowledge of the materials handling operation and provides on the job training and problem solving to others. Work also involves the operation, closing and cleaning of facilities. |
Retail Dining Assistant ManagerThis position is responsible for administrative and supervisory work in Food Service Management. Work involves planning, organizing and directing food service work at retail locations and assisting the Retail Dining Manager in oversight of food quality and production. Retail Dining Sales AssociateThis is general work preparing and serving food as well as clerical work with processing financial transactions and handling cash and payment cards. Duties include maintaining high standards of cleanliness and for assuring that patrons are served in a pleasant and courteous manner. Night Shift Deck MonitorThis position is responsible for performing the nightly custodial duties that are necessary for maintaining proper parking deck facilities. |
Compliance MonitorEnforcement of parking regulations and operational policies in campus lots and structures. Strong, professional customer service. |
Bus OperatorSafe operation of buses on campus routes and occasional charters. Complete paperwork associated with assignments. Follow written and verbal instructions as required by supervisory personnel. Occasional bus washing and other non-driving tasks are required from time to time. Applicants must submit to drug and alcohol testing as required by the US Department of Transportation. |

Maintenance Assistant (Part-Time)The Maintenance Assistant performs semi-skilled tasks on the transit bus fleet at the University of Georgia. Duties include fueling Diesel buses, dispensing Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), Plugging in and monitoring electric buses, cleaning buses, and performing basic cleaning maintenance. |
Bus Operator (Part-Time)Safe operation of buses on campus routes and occasional charters. Complete paperwork associated with assignments. Follow written and verbal instructions as required by supervisory personnel. Occasional bus washing and other non-driving tasks are required from time to time. |
Van Operator (Part-Time)Transport passengers with registered disabilities in an accessible van to and from various campus locations in accordance with applicable laws and department procedures. Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle as necessary. Inspect vehicle before, during, and after shift to ensure vehicle is in proper operating condition. Complete necessary paperwork, including time sheets and vehicle condition reports. Operates other vehicle equipment such as electronic AVL equipment and wheelchair ramps. |
